My dad was right. It is cheaper to keep her.

My parents have been married for over 50 years. And you can just see how much love they have for each other. As much as from the day they got married. And people are always asking them, “What’s your secret to staying together for so long?” And my dad, half-jokingly says, “It’s cheaper to keep her.” Well, when it comes to small business marketing, he’s right. Because it is cheaper to keep her. That is your customers, clients and patients.

You see it costs five times more to get a new customer than to keep the one that you already have. So you want to spend your time, effort and money on developing relationships with those that you’ve already brought in the door. You’ve already built the know, like and trust factor. So following the advice of cheaper to keep her is about nurturing and wowing and doing special things along the customer journey to keep those people engaged with you.

There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self.

Aldous Huxley

It’s a topic that I talk about in my book, Small Business Marketing Made EZ, where I lay out the Action System so you can get your marketing into action, literally and figuratively. The N stands for nurture. Nurture is the little things that you do along the way that excites and delights. So your customers, clients and patients will want to leave rave reviews, refer others, come back again with open wallets and become your brand ambassadors. All good things, right?

Well, I lay it out for you in my book and I’d love for you to get a free copy. To go smallbizmarketingspecialist.com/book. And if you want to know more about the Action System, what each of those letters stand for, Digital Dave will put that in the show notes below. Remember it is cheaper to keep her. So nurture those relationships to build a successful and profitable business.
