Here’s a transcript of the video:
You’ve been in business 40 years. You know what? I don’t care, neither does anybody else. Lets talk about it. . . . .
Last week I had to bring my trailer in because the left rear tire kept going flat, so there’s a business that has always serviced my trailer for the past 10 years and I love bringing it in there for three reasons. One is it’s a small business and I love small business. Two is it’s a family owned and operated business as well. My coffee and smoothie business is family owned and operated, so we share that connection. Three it it’s owned by a woman, which in this type of industry where you’re dealing with working on big commercial trailers and deal with mechanics, you don’t hear about that too often. Every time I go in there I talk to the owner, her name is Dawn, and I ask her “how’s business” and the last time I saw her it was sort of your answer of oh things are okay, but I’m not too worried about it because we’ve been in business for 40 years, so people will come back. I was just like “no”, people don’t care that you’ve been in business 40 years. That’s not why I bring my trailer to you.
The sad thing is is that this business isn’t doing any marketing and customers are not going to come back to them because they’ve been in business for 40 years. Now, if they were sending out a newsletter sharing tips and information that could help me service my trailer, it actually would have helped me prevent the damage that I had incurred because when she told me what was wrong with it, if she had let me know that there were some things I could do to service it, which means more business for her, then I wouldn’t have this damage that I had to my trailer. She also doesn’t send out any emails or any cards thanking her customers, so there’s so many things that this small business owner could do. When you’re out there bragging, I’ve been in business for 40 years, so do business with us, nobody cares. That is not what’s going to bring you more customers.
I’m small business Stacey. I’m here to help your business grow to six figures and more and help you become a #SmallBizMarketingWiz.
