Did someone say pie?

Hey everybody, Small Business Stacey here. It’s that busy time of year where everyone’s going out and buying their turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, everything to have a great Thanksgiving spread. I want to share with you today an example of some brilliant marketing done by a local realtor. I went to my mailbox and inside was this, a handwritten card with a seal on the back that definitely got my attention. When I opened it up, there was this Happy Thanksgiving card. I love how it had the realtor’s branding and he was tied into what’s already on everybody’s mind, Thanksgiving. But better than that is when you open up the card, he took advantage of what’s on everyone’s mind by creating his own holiday. He created the Alex Saenger’s Annual Pie Giveaway.

What a brilliant idea, giving a pie away to all of his clients in appreciation of their business, but he even took it one step further. Not only did he have the card, he had this little insert in there where you could pick which kind of pie you wanted, and he had multiple ways to respond. He had a website called pies.alexsaenger.com, and you could fill that out online. You could fill out this form and mail it back. You could call in your pie order. You could fax in your pie order. You could e-mail in your pie order. There were multiple ways to respond, and he has a special day and time set where people are going to go pick up their pies for a meet and greet.

All of this integrated together is a great client retention strategy.
