Hey everybody, I was just recently asked by a leading-edge marketing company what I thought was going to be the upcoming tool, trend, or technology as we head into next year.

What do you think I said? Facebook Live, automation, that can maybe you just push the easy button and all of your emails, text and communications go out. Or, maybe some new technology that’s coming out that will give you data insights into your customers, clients, and patients, so that you’ll know more about them than they even know about themselves. What do you think I answered?

None of those. My answer was this, the phone! And not because sitting on there scrolling through, spending all day on Facebook. Heck, you can probably run your whole business on the phone, but that’s not what I’m talking about. What I’m talking about is punching in seven numbers, calling somebody and having a conversation. You can call customers, clients, and patients to welcome them and thank them for doing business with you. You can use this tool, the phone, to call lapse members, or lapsed customers, clients and patients, people who haven’t done business with you in a while. Give them a reason to come back. And you can use this tool, the phone, to call people and ask them questions, which will give you insights and research into what their needs, their challenges, and their pain points are. So the tool, the telephone, is something that you can use every day that will bring money day after day, into your business. It is the one tool that I would never live without.
