Your online front door and the 16 elements you must have in place. Element number seven.

Today, we’re talking about element number seven, and that is using video on your homepage. Video is so powerful. It’s a great way to share content as well as your story. If you want to learn more about how you can use video in your marketing, go to smallbizmarketingspecialist.com/episode18.

Let’s look at some ways of how you can use video on your homepage. There’s different ways that you can incorporate video into your homepage. You can make it the main attraction like HaiBike does. I absolutely love this site. Whenever I’m encouraging my clients to use more video, I always show this one. It just grabs your attention and sucks you in while visually telling your story. You can do this with your own footage and/or there are now places that offer stock videography online.

Another example is Telerik website. They’re a tech company offering many different technology products, and these types of sites, as you probably know, are usually pretty boring. Well, not this one. Their use of video on the top makes visitors feel welcome and lets them know that they’re dealing with real people. The bold colors and fun design give off a Google-like vibe.

These two examples are good for branding and visually showing what their companies are about, but many of my clients are small local businesses like real estate agents, dentists, commercial cleaners, etc. They are the business and therefore video allows them to showcase their passion and their expertise.

This dental site not only incorporates a video background on the top, but in this section down here, the dentist is actually giving an introduction to himself. I’ll play a short piece of it here. Let me start from the beginning.

As I scroll through it, you can see that he’s basically just showcasing his expertise so that people can understand more about him, feel comfortable, and establish a rapport.

These examples show how you can incorporate video onto your homepage to establish your credibility and tell your story.

Are you ready to start doing video and putting it on your homepage? I hope so. You’ll find it’ll probably be the most viewed content on your site. You can download the list of the 16 elements by going to smallbizmarketingspecialist.com/episode27.
