Episode Summary:

The first question I asked you is why are you here? Right? Why are you here? And some of you said, “I’m here to declare my independence.”

No matter what’s happened to you, whether you’ve made mistakes, missed opportunities, gone in debt, I have a lot of zeros with mine. Whatever has happened to you is the past, we are starting a new ending today. We are going to declare our independence. And in order to do that, you’re going to have to decide, are you going to wave the flag that represents freedom or are you going to wave this one? And we know what that means, right? So by the end of today, you’re gonna have a choice to make. If you can just pass these around a worksheet that we’re gonna work on together declaring you your independence. Let’s talk about the four different types of freedom that you can have.

Time Freedom: Time freedom is doing what you want when you want. Not because you have to, but because you want to. I have time freedom. I run all of these businesses because I want to. I always joke with my husband and he knows I will probably never retire. I’m just, I have too much energy. I cannot sit on the couch and eat bonbons while I’m work because I want to. Right? And if I don’t want to, I have the time freedom to spend it where and with who I want. That’s what time freedom is.

How To Plan For Your Destination Freedom

Money Freedom: They say there is no cap to how much you can make. Many of you may struggle between time and dollars, right? I charge this much and I, I can’t feel my goodness because I’m locked into trading time for dollars. When you have time, freedom doesn’t matter anymore, right? You can do what you want when you want. You did take your time. The way I dictate my time is nobody is going to, own my email inbox. I do not live in my email. You cannot just pick up the phone and call me because I’m not going to answer. Hey, I control my time and you need to control your time as well. If you’re going to have time freedom,

Relationship Freedom: Maybe you can relate. Is there somebody in your life or your business who’s a little bit toxic? Don’t answer that right? Relationship freedom gives you the freedom to decide who you want to spend time with, who you want to do business with. You decide who your customers, clients, and patients are. I will many times turn clients away because I am very particular with who I work with. I do not want somebody who’s going to be bringing me down. Being a time suck. And you know who these people are in your life. So if you’re declaring that freedom today, you are getting rid of that toxic toxicity

Purpose Freedom. This is so important. This is what gets you up and out of bed in the morning. What is your purpose? What drives you? And it should be something bigger than you. So for example, Toms shoes, are you familiar with that company? They have a bigger purpose. They donate shoes to people who need them. You’ve probably heard their commercials on the radio, right? For every pair of shoes they sell. They donate a pair of shoes. I have a client who just came back from a month-long trip to Africa as part of the Unstoppable Foundation. She came back just totally life changed. Those people, how they live is unbelievable. They have to walk 30 minutes to the river to get a 50-liter jug of water and carry it back to the tribe. They do that 38 times a day. Now, my client, she tried it once, things they kind of carry it on their head in their back.

The next best thing to being wise onself is to live in a circle of those who are.

C.S. Lewis

She said she could barely do it once. It was just so heavy and she had a person there that she was working directly with. She’s helping get this woman through school. She’s an aspiring entrepreneur and she wants to build her own house. It took her eight years to do it. Most of the houses there are made out of mud and they just don’t last very long and she said, I’m going to make one out of brick and that’s why she would walk to the river. You get the water so she could come back and make the mortar. And finally, while my client Laura was there, she put the windows on the eight years to build a house. So my client just has it a purpose of why she’s driven. So what is your purpose? Why do you do what you do? Yeah.

There are many things that can stop us from achieving these freedoms. The two that I want to bring to mind today, most importantly mindset, right? We’re our own worst enemy.

And the number one, you as a business owner, it’s a very lonely job. One is the loneliest number. Because when you’re thinking of maybe trying something new, doing something different, you just want to bounce an idea off somebody who’s going to help you. Your employees know they just want their paycheck, your spouse, they’re probably just like a little sick of listening to you. Your dog. Yeah. They may sit in your lap and listen, but they’re not going to give you much feedback. And really all they want is the bone. So I wanna go through an exercise right now called a Profit Seat. Have any of you been part of a coaching or a mastermind group before? Okay, so the idea of a mastermind, it’s like having your own board of directors. Imagine being able to bring your biggest challenge to a group and getting the whole group to give you input and insight and ideas, things that you probably never would have thought of before. You are no longer one, and you can fix your mindset in the same place.

That’s the power of the mastermind.
