Small business sampling done right . . . this week in Marketing in 2 Minutes or Less.

Welcome everyone. This week I wanted to share with you a great example of a company that has done sampling the right way. This company contacted me because they knew that I had a food truck. They said, “We know that you have a food truck, we would love to get our product into your customer’s hands. If we send you X amount of free samples, would you be willing to give them out for us?” Wow! What a great idea. Now, this was Quaker, and they were looking to sample some of these new breakfast bars that they’re coming out with. I thought that this was a brilliant idea, by using me as a vehicle in my food truck to be able to sample their products. It doesn’t really cost them anything and it gives them access to a market that they couldn’t have reached otherwise.

Think about how you can use this in your small business. If you’re a hair salon, maybe you can partner with a cleaning company to co-share promotions or marketing strategies. Think about how you could use this in your small business. Maybe if you’re a hair salon, you could partner with a nail salon to do some kind of co-promotion or sampling. Or if you do some kind of an event, like a clothing boutique could have a cheese and wine sampling and these two businesses partner together, a restaurant and the other business. Think about how you can use sampling to the extreme in your small business.
