You better get this right or none of your marketing matters.

Hey, everybody, “Small Business Stacey” here, and I wanted to tell you that I am getting ready to go on a business trip down to Orlando, Florida.

When you go to Orlando, what are you going to do? You got to visit Mickey, right? I’m tying in some extra days to go say “hi” to Mickey and put on my mouse ears. I was so excited to do this because, even recently, I just had a post on my blog where I talked about how to Disney-fy your small business and I felt like there was going to be so many great small business lessons to teach you from down there, but then I got this email confirmation that had my name spelled wrong. It said, “Raska,” R-A-S-K-A.

Now, in general, that’s probably not a big deal, but every few days I’m getting an email with my wrong name telling me how excited they are for me to come visit and have this wonderful experience. For me, it’s not a great experience because, every time I see that, it’s like you guys didn’t get my name right. You don’t even care.

The lesson that you as the small business owner can learn is take the time to ask for the spelling of someone’s name especially if you’re going to be sending them direct mail or email correspondence or whatever it may be.

If the person on the other end when I made my reservation had just taken one second to verify the spelling of my name, I would have a much more positive outlook on my trip of going to Orlando.

Your small business lesson is take one second and verify the spelling of someone’s name. It can really make a big difference in your marketing.

This is “Small Business Stacey.” I’m your Small Biz Marketing Specialist, here to help your business grow to seven figures and more by helping you become a #SmallBizMarketingWiz
