Hey, everybody. Small Business Stacey here. Wow, did I have a week last week. I got that ring, ring, ring, that you hate to get when you get the call that somebody that you really care for passed away. So I got that call last week and a dear beloved aunt of mine had passed away, so I needed to go to the funeral.

On top of that, I got the flu when I got there, and even today, I’m still, a week later, not 100%. Here’s the thing. I probably had the busiest week last week, but you know what? It was okay because I have the systems in place, where my business does not rely on me. In my coffee and smoothie business, I was booked all week long with catering jobs. But it’s okay. I have a manager who runs the day-to-day and my marketing systems and my business systems are in place, so that those jobs can go off without a hitch.

Most great people have attained their greatest success just one step beyond their greatest failure.

I work on my business, not in my business, and that’s a big difference. In the Small Biz Marketing Specialist where I help my clients get their marketing done, I have tons of clients that every day need me and my team to be doing their marketing, but that happened. I could up and leave and go to the funeral and be sick in bed, because my team was there to get the marketing work done.

So, my question for you is, do you really have a business or do you have a job? Because, if you get that call where perhaps somebody you love passes away and you just need to, at the snap of a finger, pick up and leave, or you get the dreaded flu like I did and you’re bedridden for days, could your business run without you?

Put the marketing and business systems in place. Get the marketing in place so that you don’t have to worry about it.

Leave me a comment below of the first thing that you’re going to do to build a business that’s actually not reliant on you.

This is Small Business Stacey, your Small Biz Marketing Specialist here to help you get your marketing into action and help you become a #SmallBizMarketingWiz.
