How can you become more productive when it comes to the marketing of your small business?

Today in Marketing in Two Minutes or Less. Hey everybody. Small business Stacey here to talk about a challenge that every small business owner deals with; productivity, right? Because as a small business owner, there’s just so much to do and no time to do it, seems to be everyone’s mantra. We procrastinate, we’re distracted, we complain that we’re not achieving our goals and it all relates to productivity. You can be productive when it comes to your marketing.

Today, I’m going to share with you, my top three productivity hacks because so many people have reached out to me and saying, ‘gosh Stacey, how do you get so much done?’ I mean, just in the past year I’ve taken on so many new clients, I’ve written a book, I’m launching another business, I have a lot of things going on and the only way I can do that is by being productive.

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.

My number one productivity hack is to have a marketing plan. Common sense. I mean, how can you grow your business if you don’t have a plan? ‘Cause when you have a plan, it’s very clear what you’re going to do, how you’re going to do it, when you’re going to do it, who’s doing it and then everything else doesn’t matter. You just ignore it. If you hone in on your plan, then you know that you are going to achieve your goals. It’s sort of like the carrot and the stick and I’m going to talk about that tomorrow.

My second productivity hack is to have a calendar. I use something as simple as Google calendar. This way I have my day structured and no one is going to interfere with what I have on my calendar. I control my time. You just can’t steal my time. Call me, schedule a meeting. You need to get on my calendar. I control my time and this way it’s the first thing that I look at in the morning. Here’s what I’m going to do today and my time is blocked off and I actually, at the end of the day, go through that, make sure everything got done and prep myself for the next day.

My third productivity hack is to be in control of email. This is a huge productivity waster for most people. Usually, this is the first thing that they look at. I do not live in my email inbox. That is just other people sucking your time. I only check my email twice a day, alright. I spend no more than 10, maybe 15 minutes and boom I am done. Email is not a time suck for me.

Those are my three productivity hacks that keep me focused, on track and to achieve my goals. What’s your best productivity hack? I’d love to hear from you. Leave me a comment below.
