I’m giving up.

Hey everybody, Small Business Stacey here. It’s that time of year where you got to really start looking at your numbers because it’s tax season and it’s also the time of year where you start planning what you’re going to do or even not do for next year.

Well, that’s what I’ve been doing the last few days and you know what? I’m giving up. I’m giving up one of my businesses because as I looked at that business, I realized that for the amount of revenue and the time and the headaches that were going into it? It just wasn’t worth it.

See, as small business owners, we get so caught up. We’re creatures of habit, right? And we think just because we’ve always done something the same way that we just keep building and building and building until all of a sudden you wake up one day and you’re like, “Oh my God, what is this disaster I’ve created?” Well, that’s how I’ve been feeling anyways.

If you fall behind, run faster. Never give up, never surrender, and rise up against the odds.

But I have this one business that was really just a time suck, you know, like it was taking all my time. It wasn’t a big revenue generator and I’m like, “Why am I keep doing this?” So, I am giving it up. And wow, it’s like a burden of relief, so I’d rather focus my time and attention on the things that are bringing in the most revenue, where I can help the most amount of people and yet still have a life and balance and some sense of just being able to get through the day without so much stress.

All right, so I am giving up one of my businesses. What are you going to give up? Is there a product, a service, even perhaps if you own multiple businesses, what are you going to give up so that you can be happy and live the dream business that you always wanted? I’d love to hear from you. Leave me a comment below.

Very thought provoking. There’ are a few things I should probably give up in order to make room for other things to succeed.
